North End Against Drugs will also be using about 1/3 of the grant received to help fund North End Family Pride Week.
North End Against Drugs is happy to announce that it has received a grant in the amount of $7,500.00 from the Boston Foundation as part of the My Summer in the City Funding Initiative. NEAD will be collaborating with R.O.C. to show a Family Movie Night at the Gassy Park and also teaming up with the North End Music and Performing Arts Center to run 3 other Free Fun Family Nights in the Paul Revere Mall (PRADO) on Hanover St. See the flyer below for all the details. Thanks to the Boston Foundation, all of the events will be free to all who attend. We are extremely grateful to Robert Lewis Jr, VP of Programming and the Boston Foundation for this fabulous opportunity to provide some amazing free programming for the families of the North End/Waterfront neighborhood along with our friends from other parts of the city who may want to attend.
“Without the help of the Boston Foundation, we would need to significantly reduce what we do on Pride Week,” said NEAD President John Romano. “I have worked with Robert Lewis Jr. for many years on many projects going back to when he was at City Year. He is a tremendous individual who knows the importance of providing programs for the youth and families of the various neighborhoods in Boston,” stated Romano. NEAD is thrilled to be part of the My Summer in the City Initiative for the second year in a row.
