We were watching the weather and have decided to go for it since it appears that the rain will break for Saturday.  Here are the specifics again:

Please join us for The Friends of the North End Branch Library Book Sale.

When:   Saturday, May 21st from 10 am – 3 pm. 

Where:  The North End Branch library at 25 Parmenter Street. 

What Do We Have:  Books will be for sale inside and outside of the library.  We’ve collected many new best seller book donations.  Come early for the best selection (no pre-selection prior to start time)! 

Young Reader Special:  We are offering a special to our young readers in the neighborhood:  A Summer Reading List Deal – any student who finds a title in our general stock (not in the “specials”) from their summer reading list will get the book free. Student MUST bring their reading list. No restrictions on school district, public/private/charter, all are eligible. 

All proceeds will benefit the works of The Friends so come support your neighborhood library!

Devotees of Saint Padre Pio from St. Leonard Church held the 6th annual procession on Sunday afternoon in honor of the relatively new saint. The statue of St. Pio was carried from St. Leonard Church after an Italian Mass and walked through the neighborhood streets where devotees pinned donations on ribbons.
