Here are a couple of photos from tonight’s “super-moon” over Boston Harbor, taken from the North End. The moonrise on March 19, 2011 was the biggest full moon in nearly 20 years, at near “perigee” when it is closest to the earth. The second photo is more exposed and shows Logan’s airport tower on the left and a plane taking off (so yes, the moon is big). Below the photos is a NASA video explaining how it all works.

Nice Day for a Swim in the Harbor; Unless You Fall In
A 60 year old man fell in Boston Harbor off Christopher Columbus Park on Thursday afternoon around 4:00 pm. Some bystanders jumped in to help him before officials came by boat and took them all out of the harbor.
