North End community volunteer Rebecca Mattson is congratulated by keynote speaker Victoria Reggie Kennedy at the annual Community Awards Dinner of Action for Boston Community Development. Mattson made her mark managing numerous redevelopment projects in the city, including Boston Garden and Trinity Place.

Vacating her former role as chief operating officer at Raymond Property Co., Mattson formed a new firm, Sagebrook Development LLC, and is working on the Western Avenue Lofts in Lowell to build 46 artist living/working units to complement 180+ artist studios.

She was nominated by the North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center for devoting time, energy and talents to bettering the welfare of those less fortunate in the community. Mattson is a Wayland resident.

In all, 19 community heroes from across Boston were awarded by ABCD, to a sold-out crowd of 1300 attendees.
