The NEW (North End/Waterfront) Dog Initiative welcomes our Neighborhood Residents to our First Humane Education Forum on Responsible Dog Ownership.
Please join us on Wednesday, June 23rd @ 6:30 p.m @ the Nazzaro Center. The discussion will center on COMMUNICABLE DISEASES with a special focus on INTESTINAL PARASITES IN OUR COMPANION DOGS.
We’ve partnered with the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital @ the MSPCA and will be joined by guest speaker, veterinarian Dr. Kiko Bracker. Dr. Bracker is a board-certified specialist who recently joined the Emergency and Critical Care Department at Angell. He has done an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, completed a residency in Emergency Medicine, and is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.
As the number of companion dogs continue to increase in our neighborhoods, we realize the importance of humane education for both dog-owner and non-dog owner residents. Become involved in your neighborhood and your pet’s care through informative discussions by “experts” in the veterinary field. A Q&A session will follow Dr. Bracker’s presentation.
We are planning future humane educational forums for the fall. Some will be appropriate for adults and others for children but, our audience will ALWAYS be made up of the “human population kind!”
Thank you,
Councilor Sal LaMattina, Representative Aaron Michlewitz and members of THE NEW DOG INITIATIVE
I am hoping that dog owners will attend this meeting not only educational wise but they are interested in their dogs and it will help this dog committee to whether or not they should go foward with any other issues in the future.
