NEAA To Run New 6-8 Year Old Baseball Program

The North End Athletic Association is trying to jump start a baseball program for 6-8 year olds.  Boys and girls ages 6-8 as of April 30th 2010 are invited to join this great new fun program.  Minor league baseball was once a great league when I was a kid growing up in the North End.  We want to revitalize it and bring real baseball back to these ages.  The NEAA is putting the final touches together for this fun league.  There will be two evenings a week of baseball for this age group and one will be part of a doubleheader on Friday nights right before the Little Leaguers play.  We are hoping to have 8-10 children per team and shooting for 3 to 4 teams.

We already have several players signed up and ready to go but we need more.  Cost is only $35 and each player will get a team T-Shirt and a hat.  Pitching will be done either by pitching machine or by the coaches.  We will stress baseball fundaments and Fun!!!  To register go to neaabaseball.com and select minor-league on the registration form.  Forms are also available at the Nazzaro Community Center front desk.  Checks can be made out to NEAA and mailed to NEAA, c/o John Romano 30 North Bennet St Boston, Mass. 02113.  Deadline for registration is Feb 28th.

Please note, we already do a clinic on Saturday mornings with Coach Dom for ages 5-8.  Also on Sunday Mornings we have a T-Ball program for ages 5 – 7 with Jack Ferullo, you can sign up for all of those on neaabaseball.com as well.

Please note that our programs are not restricted to North End Residents.  We have many children who go to Eliot & St. John’s Schools, the Nazzaro Center etc that do not live in the North End.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
