A message from Elizabeth Vitello, Recruiting Assistant for the Census Bureau 2010:
Every 10 years, a census of our population is conducted. The results help determine how federal funds are spent in our community on things like roads, parks, and other public services, as well as your representation in government. As a census taker, we help to make sure that everyone in our community is counted for.
My job is to recruit and test the people from my community. I was born and raised in the North End and I feel like this is an important endeavor for the community I love. All you need to do is call (617) 848-3260 you can mention that Liz the North End Recruiter gave you the information. The Census job offers, amazing pay, flexible hours, paid training, and the chance to work independently in your own community.
The starting pay is $22/hour for flexible temp work right in the neighborhood. The count is important to help get funding for parks, public services, road construction, etc. The results will affect funding and reapportionment of the House of Representatives. The count means getting our fair share of funding. The Census is eager to hire, and they need lots of residents to apply by contacting Liz for information on taking a 28-question test to be qualified for the March Census.
Applicants must be over 18 and be a citizen, and should call 1-866-861-2010, or visit www.2010censusjobs.gov.
