A message to neighborhood residents in need from Geof Smith, Deacon at Old North Church and Jim Ring, Director of Piccoli Regali.
Do you need help? Are you hungry on weekends?
Piccoli Regali, or “Little Gifts,” will resume distributing small bags of food items on Saturday mornings to people in need in the North End. Those in need are encouraged to come to the Clough House, 21 Unity Street (behind the Old North Church), between 10:00AM and 1:00PM on Saturdays starting December 5, 2009 through April 24, 2010.
Jim Ring, North End/Waterfont resident, started Piccoli Regali last Fall with the intention of helping to feed our neighbors who cannot get to a public meal program on weekends. Piccoli Regali regularly helps 25-30 people nearby to the church. The program is open to all, and is sponsored by the congregation of Old North Church, and volunteers from the community. The program will run on Saturdays, though the end of April.
