George Collins and Tara Shea of 12 Unity Street have applied for zoning relief to replace an existing roof headhouse with a new deck and penthouse room. The headhouse was likely used for pigeons in the distant past, but has fallen into disrepair.
The owners purchased the building out of foreclosure and have been renovating it with some tenants in residence. For their own use, the applicants wish to add a guest room as a penthouse along with a deck. The building is 54 feet high and overlooks the Prado.
The presentation was made at the June 23rd ZLC committee meeting in preparation for the NEWRA July 9th monthly meeting. More information can be found at www.newra.org.
