Frattaroli Reappointed President of North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council; Lanza Resigns [Video]

The North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) announced its new slate of officers including the reappointment of President Philip Frattaroli. Other officers for the coming year are Vice President Ryan Kenny, Secretary John Pregmon and Sergeant-at-Arms Marie Simboli. The NEWNC executives were announced on Tuesday night, June 8, 2015, at the first meeting of the council since the May election. First time NEWNC members sitting with the council were newly elected Carmine Guarino and Sean Hennessey.

Separately, NEWNC member Maria Lanza announced her resignation from the council. Lanza has accepted a position at Boston City Hall to be the North End / West End representative for the Office of Neighborhood Services. There was no mention of filling the empty seat with a runner-up candidate from last month’s election.

The council also recognized contributions from David Marx, former councilor who will be leading a new effort as chair of the joint NEWNC/NEWRA Public Safety Committee.

Reports were provided for Parking & Transportation, Public Safety and the Greenway committees.

Patricia Muse and Leo Caruso  at 290 North Street withdrew their application to change the occupancy at La Capella Suites.

Please view the video for more details and reports from the NEWNC meeting. The videos for 278 Hanover Street (Caffe Pompei) and 3-5 Quincy Court are posted separately.
