Nick Varano, owner of Strega and NICO restaurants in the North End, continues his longtime support for the annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer benefit.
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is an annual “Bake Sale” that runs every year bringing together Boston-area restaurants who designate the sales of one select dessert or 50% of their entire dessert menu to benefit the cause for one week leading up to Mother’s Day.
This year the bake sale hits very close to home for Nick Varano, who has always been a big supporter, as the selected 2013 honoree, Anna Roffo Guarino, is close personal friend to Nick. For his part, Nick has selected to sell his restaurants’ phenomenal Chocolate Berry Tart at both Strega Waterfront and Strega North End, which we created by Pastry Chef, Salvatore Firicano.

Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is a sweet and delicious way to raise “dough” for breast cancer research and care. During the week leading up to Mother’s Day, May 6 through May 12, more than 200 restaurants, bakeries, cafés, ice cream, and chocolate shops throughout Massachusetts will participate by designating all sales of one specific dessert or fifty-percent of proceeds from their entire dessert menu to breast cancer research and care. Proceeds will be shared by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc., a non-profit breast cancer organization dedicated to making a difference. Love You Nick~~~You’re “THE BEST” !!!!
