NEWRA Supports “Rigoletto” Transfer From “Sapori di Napoli” at 115A Salem Street [Video]

Salem Group, LLC, (Nestor Patino) represented by Attorney Miriam Cicero, presented plans to purchase the Sapori di Napoli cafe from Vincenzo Grimaldi at 115A Salem Street to the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) on January 10, 2013.

The company has filed an application with the Boston Licensing Board to seek a transfer of the existing Malt and Wine with Liqueurs license to operate a new cafe / sandwich shop called Rigoletto at the same location. The closing time in the current license is midnight, 7 days per week.

In a vote of 24-4, NEWRA supported the application as proposed.

Can someone update me on what is going on wth Il Panino Express on Hanover Street? I was at a NEWRA meeting when the owner requested a beer & wine license transfer from his gelaterria.

Now I see a sign that says that the express has moved to Cross St. Is there a new restaurant going in this location?

    Thanks.

I saw the same sign and thought it was to send folks across the street to the regular Il Panino Trattoria while the construction was going on. I could be wrong. Frank said the express will be renamed with table service when it reopens with the beer/wine license. NEWRA decided not to vote on the transfer, but NEWNC did here.

I think it just means that if you want a sandwich, go to his Pasta Shoppe on Cross St. The sign in the Pasta Shoppe window advertizes sandwiches.
