“Bella Figlia dell’amore” from Rigoletto – Video of NEMPAC Italian Opera Concert

This video features introductory comments by North End Music & Performing Arts Center President, Matt Black, and Program Director Sherri Snow. At the 2:50 mark, view the performance of “Bella Figlia dell’amore” from Rigoletto. Playing Gilda is Abigal Krawson, Maddalena is played by Alexandra Dietrich, Duca by Fred VanNess and Rigoletto by Daniel Cyr.

In this scene, Glida and her father Rigoletto look on as they discover the Duke’s promiscuous acts with the servant Maddalena. The more the Duke woes her the more jealous and distraught Gilda becomes. Rigoletto tries to comfort Gilda, and Maddalena tries to resist the Duke’s advances.

Filmed on February 17, 2012 at the Old North Church.
Editor’s note: Apologies for the rough audio that does not begin to capture the true quality of the performance.
