Below are two traffic disruptions that may impact your travel this weekend.
Longfellow Bridge Rehabilitation Project
MassDOT will be implementing overnight lane and full closures on Storrow Drive east and west near the Longfellow Bridge on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15.
Friday, September 14: Storrow Drive West single left lane will be closed 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. Center and left lanes will be closed 11 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Saturday, September 15: Storrow Drive West will be fully closed from 12 a.m. – 7 a.m. Storrow Drive East center and left lanes will be closed 1 a.m. – 2 a.m. and and fully closed 2 a.m. – 7 a.m.
East Boston – Sumner Tunnel
MassDOT crews will be shifting the roadway configuration at the East Boston entrance to the Sumner Tunnel on Saturday, September 15, resulting in the following temporary lane closures.
From 4 a.m. through 8 a.m: Visconti Road will be temporarily re-routed by one block so that vehicles can access the Sumner Tunnel entrance via the Visconti Road/Porter Street/London Street intersection (East Boston on-ramp).
From 8:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m: Single lane closures will be implemented on Visconti Road.
From 12 p.m. through 5 p.m: Short-term lane closures and temporary road closures on Route 1A southbound at various times as required by ongoing operations.
From 5 p.m. through 6 p.m: Short-term roadway and lane closures along Visconti Road at various times as required by ongoing operations.
From 6:00 p.m. through 8 p.m: Short-term lane and roadway closures along Visconti Road/Porter Street/London Street at various times as required by ongoing operations.
Drivers are also reminded that access to Havre Street from Route 1A southbound will be permanently closed after this configuration is implemented on Saturday, September 15.
