Arthur Lauretano, MD Appointed Chief Medical Officer of Circle Health

Circle Health announced the appointment of Arthur Lauretano, MD, MS, FACS to the role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective January 1, 2018.

As CMO, Dr. Lauretano will collaborate with key stakeholders and focus on evaluating and enhancing the medical practice, healthcare services and patient care experience within Circle Health and Lowell General Hospital. He will work directly with clinical leaders, hospital administration and community providers, and will lead discussions designed to continually improve and optimize the health system’s efforts to care for and serve area residents. Dr. Lauretano will report to Circle Health’s President and CEO Jody White in his new role.

Dr. Lauretano, a board-certified otolaryngologist, is well-known within the medical community in Greater Lowell. Since his move to the area in 1997, he has practiced at Massachusetts ENT Associates, Inc. in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and been a member of Lowell General Hospital’s medical staff for over 20 years. During that time, Dr. Lauretano has been active within the hospital’s Surgical Services Department and at the Cancer Center, specifically in robotic surgery and head and neck cancer. He served as President of the Medical Staff and currently serves as Medical Director of Inpatient Specialty Services and the Medical Director of Otolaryngology Multidisciplinary Clinic at the Cancer Center. Dr. Lauretano will maintain both of those leadership roles and integrate them into his responsibilities as CMO. He will also continue to see and care for patients at his practice.

Dr. Lauretano completed his surgical internship at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital and his residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine’s six-year medical program. Dr. Lauretano has his Master of Science in Healthcare Management and Clinical Informatics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and has a second board certification in Clinical Informatics from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Doctor Lauretano is the son of former North End residents Mary Anne (Masie Silano) and Arthur A. (Sonny) Lauretano, husband of Adrienne Agliano Lauretano and father of Danielle and Arthur Jr .
