Oystersa culinary thrill for Boston foodies

This Saturday marks National Oyster Day, a trending food item among Boston restaurants like North Square Oyster, which moves about 6,000 to 7,000 oysters per week. These oysters are served with a creative spin of New England surf and turf, the Boston Herald has the full story.

[August 3, 4, 5 & 6] St. Agrippina Feast at Hanover & Battery Streets in Boston’s North End. The St. Agrippina di Mineo Feast will take place on Hanover & Battery Streets with the procession starting at 12:00pm on Sunday.

10:00am Mah Jongg Drop-in at the North End Library. Friends of the North End Library invite you to drop in anytime between 10am and 2pm for Mah Jongg games at 25 Parmenter Street.

10:00am Kids Artist in Residence Workshop at Christopher Columbus Park. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program, sponsored by Holly and David Bruce, is pleased to announce the return of its series of children’s arts workshops. Participation is free but young children must be accompanied by an adult.

5:30pm Boston Workplace Fitness. Cresa Boston would like to bring together employees in nearby offices to The Greenway to participate in a fitness program promoting wellness in the workplace. Located at Milk Street & Atlantic Avenue.

6:00pm Sports Night at Polcari Playground (Outside Nazzaro). Sports Night at the Polcari Playground, outside the Nazzaro Center Boys and girls, ages 8 to 16 are invited for fun filled sports games, free pizza and soft drinks. Parents must attend with children under 12.

6:00pm Mark Farina: Casey and the Flying Fortress Author Talk. Mark Farina tells the story of his father-in-law, a WWII B-17 bomber pilot, and his crew–including two men from Boston. Located at I AM Books, 189 North Street, view the details.

7:00pm Opening Procession for St. Agrippina’s Feast at Hanover & Battery Streets. St. Agrippina’s Feast is the first “big” festival of the year. The society is hosting a 4-day festival with daily processions and a full lineup of entertainment, concluding with the famous “Tug of War.”

Free Carousel Rides on the Greenway. Thanks to the Highland Street Foundation! Admission to the Greenway Carousel at the Tiffany & Co Foundation Grove will be FREE on August 4th, 2017. Join us for a spin on 14 unique New England native creatures!

1:00pm Movie at North End Library. The North End Branch of the Public Library on Parmenter Street is starting a Friday Movie Club. 7:30pm Outdoor Movie: “Tootsie” at Rowes Wharf, Boston Harbor Hotel. Michael Dorsey, an unsuccessful actor, disguises himself as a woman in order to get a role on a trashy hospital soap. The movie starts at dusk.

Saturday, August 5

11:00am Street Performer Showcase at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s world-famous street performers are bringing their top acts and their most exciting shows to the Street Performer Summer Showcase, a two-day extravaganza taking place throughout the Marketplace on August 5 and 6.

11:00am Greenway Open Market. The Greenway Open Market is a vibrant open-air artisan market featuring talented area artists, crafters, and independent designers. Visitors will find exceptional art, locally produced products, and much more! Located at the Rings Fountain, Milk Street.
