On Saturday April 15 the City of Boston will celebrate “One Boston Day”, a day Mayor Martin Walsh permanently designated last year to “celebrate the resiliency, generosity, and strength demonstrated by the people of Boston and those around the world in response to the tragedy of April 15, 2013.”
One Boston Day encourages random acts of kindness and goodwill across the city as a reflection of the support given to survivors following the 2013 Boston Marathon. Throughout the day there will be organized activities that encourage individuals to give back to their community. This tradition evolved in 2015 from the desire expressed by many survivors to pass on the kindness they received.
Visit onebostonday.org to see how other individuals and organizations are planning to celebrate One Boston Day. On this website you can sign up to participate in events or create your own. Individuals are encouraged to share how they plan to spread goodwill by posting on social media using the hashtags #OneBostonDay and #BeBoston, and by using the One Boston Day logos.
