Three Things to Know for Thursday, October 13th!

1. The community calendar has the following events on the agenda:

9:00am Cheryl Cronin, CEO Boston Public Market Talks at Faneuil Hall Marketplace Rotunda. Faneuil Hall Merchants Association will host the fourth in the series, “Talks in the Rotunda,” with guest speaker Cheryl Cronin, CEO of Boston Public Market. Cronin will discuss what’s new at Boston Public Market including its fall programming and events. The event is free and open to the public.

2:00pm New Citizens Welcome Reception at Armenian Heritage Park. New Citizens Welcome Reception for Families & Friends following today’s Naturalization Ceremony. Enjoy the 12-piece Black Sea Salsa Band Salsa with Dance Caliente, luscious desserts & much more!

6:00pm Poetry reading and book presentation – Jennifer Martelli. The Uncanny Valley is a soulful collection that disrupts the head and the heart. Powerful as a thunderclap, these poems have grit, an undeniable doggedness in their examination of family, religion, gender, sex, and place. [I AM Books, 189 North Street].

6:30pm Light Show at City Hall Plaza. Mayor Martin J. Walsh will debut City Hall’s exterior lighting installation, a permanent fixture to highlight and enhance the building’s original design while livening up City Hall Plaza and increasing public safety. The unveiling will be made during this year’s final Beer Garden on the Bricks event, themed ‘Light Bright Beer Garden.’

7:00pm NEWRA Monthly Meeting – Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet Street. The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) will hold their Annual Meeting, Election & Reception. View the agenda.
