Fireworks Saturday Night, Sept. 3rd, on Boston Harbor!

Boston Harbor Now (the merged entity of The Boston Harbor Association and the Harbor Islands Alliance) and the City of Boston is bringing Illuminate Boston fireworks to the Harbor on the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend.

The barge will be located in the center of the inner harbor, with viewing from the North End, Seaport, and East Boston. The fireworks will be illuminating the skyline with spectacular volleys set to music.  Best viewing locations are the North End’s Christopher Columbus Park and Long Wharf, East Boston’s Piers Park and the Seaport’s Fan Pier.  The fireworks and music will also be televised live on New England Cable News (NECN) beginning at 8:00 pm, with music also broadcast on via the Atlas PyroVision smart phone app beginning at 8:30 pm EST.

When:  Begins 8:30 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016 (Labor Day Weekend)

Where:  Best viewing locations:

  • Downtown Boston’s Christopher Columbus Park and Long Wharf (Blue Line Aquarium Station),
  • East Boston’s Piers Park (Blue Line Maverick Square Station),
  • Seaport’s Fan Pier (Red Line South Station or Silver Line Courthouse Station),
  • Televised on NECN, with music broadcast on AtlasPyro Vision smartphone app.

Correction 8/29/16: This post originally said there would be two barges, i.e., “Battle of the Barges.” This year, there will only be one barge located in the middle of the inner harbor so that people can see it from Christopher Columbus Park, Fan Pier and Piers Park.
