Movie Screening: “Fish & Chips” A Program About Alzheimer’s Disease on April 26

The Friends of the NE Branch Library present:  “Fish & Chips”, a program about Alzheimer’s disease.  Please join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion.  Program will include the Boston screening of “Fish & Chips”, a short movie produced in Spencer, MA by Paul C. McKinney and directed by Leo Kei Angelos.

The program will be at the Boston Harbor Community Church* located at 9 Salutation St. on April 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

Margaret, played by the North End’s own Dorothy Keville, is the feisty wife of Edward, played by Ken Ekkens, of Concord, NH, her devoted husband of 47 years.  They go for Fish and Chips almost every Friday.   Margaret reminds Edward of his ‘selective memory’. There is a twist at the end about Alzheimer’s.

Q&A will be held after the film with the producer and cast members including Dorothy Keville, the lead actress and local NE resident.  A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will be present to answer questions and provide additional information on the disease.

A $5 donation at the door will benefit the works of the Friends of the NE Branch Library.

*The program auditorium is accessible via stairs only.
