3 Things & Photo: City Hall Vigil, Flag Day, Umberto’s July Closing

1. Thousands gathered at City Hall Plaza on Monday night to honor the 49 people killed in Orlando. Mayor Marty Walsh spoke at the vigil after which City Hall was bathed in rainbow colors overnight. More at the Boston Globe.

2. Today is Flag DayMarking a United States Holiday, Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14th. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day.

Red Sox Update: After taking two out of three games in Minnesota, the Red Sox (36-26) are back at Fenway tonight to face the Baltimore Orioles, first pitch is at 7:10pm.

If your routine is to grab some of Galleria Umberto Rosticceria’s food during their short operating hours, make sure to put it up on your priority list these last couple of weeks in June.   1. Thanks for the link to BostonZest and for all the great coverage of one of our favorite neighborhoods. Oddly enough our Friday link this week will be to Northend Waterfront! It was schedule a while back since we worked ahead to take June off and enjoy the city.
