Monday, April 18

Patriot’s Day – Boston Marathon
City offices are closed, Sunday parking rules are in effect, Boston Public Schools and libraries are closed along with all community centers as runners head from Hopkinton to Boylston Street in Boston. More information on the 120th Boston Marathon.

9:45 am Re-Enactment of Paul Revere’s Ride in North End
The annual Patriot’s Day ceremonies include the re-enactment of the famous midnight rides of Paul Revere and William Dawes that occurred on April 18, 1775. The re-enactment of Paul Revere’s ride begins at the Paul Revere Mall on Hanover Street in front of the Old North Church at approximately 9:45 am. This year’s rider is Brigadier General Leonid Kondratiuk of the Massachusetts National Lancers. Corporal Christine Leboeuf will escort him on his ride to Charlestown, Somerville, Medford, Arlington, and Lexington.

Wednesday, April 20

8:30am Dr. Bryan Williams at Battery Wharf Hotel

1:00pm Improv Asylum NEAD Event [Improv Asylum, 216 Hanover Street]
North End Against Drugs will be having their Annual Improv Comedy Event at the Improv Asylum, with free pizza and soft drinks, along with a great family oriented Improv Comedy Show. This is a show for all ages, 6 and up. If you would like to attend, please email John Romano at jromano45@gmail.com by April 15th as seating is limited.

6:30pm FOCCP Membership Social at Tia’s [Tia’s, 200 Atlantic Avenue]
Celebrate the beginning of spring with the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) at our Membership Drive Social! The social is your opportunity to renew your annual membership, become a new member, meet new neighbors, visit with friends, and learn more about FOCCP in a very fun and casual atmosphere.

10:30am I Piccoli Lettori: Italian children’s reading (ages 0-4) [I AM Books, 189 North Street]
Join I AM Books for its Italian reading group for little ones! Children (0-4) and their parents will engage in multiple readings and games for a fun morning of Italian language and learning.

11:00am Greenway Food Truck Festival at Wharf District
Join us as several of your favorite food trucks and trikes join forces to kick off spring on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway between Milk and India Streets. The Greenway Spring Food Truck Festival is supported by Stop & Shop & Peapod Delivers, view the event posting.

5:00pm Cettina Donato – Allegro Concert Series [I AM Books, 189 North Street]
Born and raised in Sicily (Italy), Cettina is a classical and jazz piano player, composer, arranger and conductor. She graduated in Jazz Composition and Performance at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). She’s also graduated in Classical and Jazz piano and Composition, in Musical Didactic at Conservatory “A. Corelli” of Messina (Italy) and she’s graduated in Social Psychology at the University of Messina (Italy).
