Monday, October 12
11:45am Fall Festival at Christopher Columbus Park [100 Atlantic Avenue]
Line up at the statue of Christopher Columbus and be part of the Kids’ Parade through the park. The fun and games begin and include visiting with the Stilt Walker and Mickey Mouse, Big Joe the Storyteller, Peter O’Malley the Magician, Jim the Bubble Guy, the Aquarium Tidepool, NEMPAC’s Craft table and more! 12:00pm Screening: Boston’s North End at Northeastern Snell Library
From 1870-1900, more than 4 million southern Italians left their home country, fleeing violence, social chaos, and widespread poverty. Boston’s North End tells the story of the individuals and families who found their way their way to Boston and settled in what became one of America’s oldest “Little Italy” communities. 11:00am Circus Elephant Brunch on Hanover Street
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® brings their legendary stars, Asian elephants, from the all-new show to the North End for brunch. The event is open to the public, view the event post and view photos from previous years.
6:30pm Rachel Revere Park Public Meeting at St. John School [9 Moon St, Boston – Boston]

Thursday, October 15
5:00pm Chess with a Grandmaster at Faneuil Hall Marketplace (between Cheers and Café Pulse)
Do you consider yourself a decent chess player? If so, come prove your skills against a chess Grandmaster. Larry Christiansen of the Boylston Chess Club will play 25 games simultaneously. This event is first come first serve, so be sure to arrive early to play!
Saturday, October 17
10:00am Book/DVD Sale at North End Library [25 Parmenter St, Boston]
There will be a Fall Book Sale this year at the North End Branch Library on Saturday, while it’s always nice to raise a bit of money for the Friends of the North End Branch Library, the event will also be a social community event with tea, coffee, cookies and cider for free! View the event post.
11:00am A Cappella Competition at Faneuil Hall Marketplace [Also on Sunday, October 18th]
Faneuil Hall Marketplace Merchants Association will host the 19th annual Faneuil Hall Marketplace A Cappella Competition. The best A Capella groups in New England will go head to head as they entertain the crows while they compete in the West End of the Marketplace. The groups will sing for a panel of judges, view the event posting.
1:00pm Paul Revere House: Colonial Weaving Demonstration [19 N Square, Boston]
Talented craftsman Fred Lawson demonstrates the art of creating cloth by hand and simple machines, get a chance to practice weaving on the small looms provided. View the event post.
4:00pm Idelebile Italia Photography Exhibit at West End Museum [150 Staniford St, Boston]
Members Gallery Exhibit: Indelebile Italia is free through November 28th and is open during regular Museum hours. There will be a free reception with light refreshments showcasing the photography exhibit, sponsored by Gallery East, captures and celebrates the beauty and mystery of Italy, more information on the event.
5:30pm Fall Pumpkin Float at Boston Common, Frog Pond
