Charles W. Morgan, Last Wooden Whaleship, Visits Boston’s Charlestown Navy Yard [Photos]

Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship in the world, came to Boston’s Charlestown Navy Yard this week berthed next to USS Constitution. The 19th-century whaleship recently completed a 6-year restoration project at Mystic Seaport and is making her 38th voyage. She also visited the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, perhaps visiting the descendants of the whales she previously hunted. The Charles W. Morgan will be open to the public at the Charlestown Navy Yard through July 22nd. See her sailing schedule.

Brendan O’Brien captures these amazing images of the Charles W. Morgan sailors were drying out her sails after a rain.
