Super-Moonrise Photos Over Boston Harbor

Here are a couple of photos from tonight’s “super-moon” over Boston Harbor, taken from the North End. The moonrise on March 19, 2011 was the biggest full moon in nearly 20 years, at near “perigee” when it is closest to the earth. The second photo is more exposed and shows Logan’s airport tower on the left and a plane taking off (so yes, the moon is big). Below the photos is a NASA video explaining how it all works.
