Given the number of movies we have seen filming recently in the North End area, it is noteworthy that a State legislature committee defeated an effort to rescind tax credits to movie companies. House Bill 3854 was an attempt to cut the film tax credit but rejected by the Joint Committee on Revenue this week. The tax credit is worth 25% of qualifying wage and non-wage production expenses and a sales tax exemption for in-state spending.
