Latest news from the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park:
At our March monthly meeting, Tom Powers, President of Boston Harbor Alliance, will be talking about the Pavilion that will be on the Greenway located between Quincy Market and the Christopher Columbus Park. The Alliance’s mission is to promote public awareness and use of the Boston Harbor Islands national park area by creating vibrant spaces, facilities and programming on the islands, raising and managing the public and private resources necessary to do so.
In addition, updates from each of the committee chairs will be provided and we will be discussing plans for the Park in 2010. We are always looking for new ideas and feedback on how we can make our neighborhood park even better!
We hope you can join us!

Maintenance Committee Needs Volunteers!
The Maintenance Committee is being reformed and Cole Landers, Committee Chair, is seeking several volunteers to establish a team to support the goals of the FOCCP Organization which includes ensuring continuity to maintenance and infrastructure upkeep of the Park.
The Maintenance Team does not perform physical maintenance. Rather, its duties are to perform periodic ongoing assessments of the physical condition of the Park in terms of wear and tear, deterioration, breakage, risk, etc., and provide coordination and reports to the City of Boston Parks Dept. or other Agencies for remediation.
If you are interested in getting involved with the Maintenance Committee, either contact Cole directly at clanders2@comcast.net or talk to him at the next meeting.
