The Friends of the North End Branch Library dedicated Phase II of the brick walkway at the Parmenter Street public library this week. Many supporters of the group attended and certificates were awarded for service to the library over many years.

Funds from the brick walkway are used to support new equipment and programs at the neighborhood library branch, in cooperation with Boston Public Library. Some of the recent Friends projects include garden plantings, filling in the center pool area, new movie screen, librarian chair and table lamps. The group continues to have a long list of future projects.
A special note was made of the Dante Alighieri relief, recently cleaned through the support of the Friends group and Robert Severy. The relief was donated by the Cambridge Dante Alighieri Society to the Central Boston Public Library in 1913 and later moved to the North End branch.
