Richmond Street in Boston’s North End was transformed from a road connecting Atlantic Ave. and Hanover St. to a flooded mess after a water main broke last Wednesday morning. Neighboring businesses had to temporarily close as a result while Boston Water and Sewer Commission worked to repair the water main.
Local business owner Jorge Mendoza, whose store Monica’s Pasta Shop at 141 Richmond St. and restaurant Vinoteca di Monica next door at 143 Richmond St. both had to temporarily halt business, captured these photos of the repairs and clean up.
Water services were restored and businesses reopened mid-afternoon on Wednesday.
