The USS Constitution went for a turnaround in Boston Harbor in celebration of the conclusion of Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Heritage Week on Friday, August 23.
The ship traveled to Fort Independence on Castle Island where she fired a 21-gun salute. An additional 17-gun salute was fired as she passed the U.S. Coast Guard Station, the former site of Edmund Hartt Shipyard where Constitution was built and launched. The USS Constitution then returned to her berth at Pier 1, Charlestown Navy Yard.
