Commercial Street Kitchen Fire Displaces Eight Residents

Boston Fire Department responded to a second floor kitchen fire on Saturday afternoon at 470 Commercial Street.

There were no injuries and the fire was contained in short order.

Due to the fire and subsequent water damage, power is off at the property displacing eight residents.

… and firefighters couldn’t access the back of the building due to cars parked in the city abandoned Foster St. Playground.

  The back of the building actually has an alleyway, next to the Foster St. lot, for access. But the building is front/back apartments, and the fire was in the front.
