The North End Athletic Association (NEAA) held a celebration at the Nazzaro Community Center for the youth of the North End and members of the Center on Tuesday, April 9 for Opening Day of the Boston Red Sox!
The event saw over 120 people in attendance, with the bulk of them being children ages 6 to 16. Thanks to NEAA volunteers Mike “Mikey Fud” Giannasoli and Patricia Romano, along with help from BCYF Nazzaro Center Director Steven Siciliano, the children, their parents and even 20 or so members of the North End Senior Club were served ball park favorites to help celebrate the 2018 Championship as well as the 2019 home opener at Fenway Park!
Everyone enjoyed hot dogs, potato chips, and ice cream – all fan favorites! The children were also given a Red Sox hat and a Red Sox Rookie Ball baseball t-shirt. The hats and shirts were provided to the NEAA as part of a long standing collaboration with the Boston Red Sox, the Red Sox Foundation and their Rookie Ball Program.
The NEAA would like to thank the Nazzaro Center for hosting this event.
