A Weekend In Boston: Events Throughout the City March 15 – 17

Welcome to A Weekend in Boston, a weekly post about events occurring over the upcoming weekend throughout all of Boston. For events coming up in the North End, see the event calendar. For more information on each event, click on the event title.

It’s Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend! This weekend brings the Dropkick Murphys to Boston every night of the weekend from Thursday through Sunday. So, chances are if you miss them one night, you’ll probably be able to see them another night. It’s going to be beautiful out this weekend with temperatures possibly reaching the 60s on Friday. Here’s to a fun, warm, and safe weekend!

Friday, March 15

MFA Late Nites

If you’re feeling up to a late night this Friday and want to see some art, the Museum of Fine Arts might be the place for you. Music, food, drinks, and of course art will be part of the evening at the MFA. Visitors will get an early look at the new Gender Bending Fashion exhibit coming to the museum soon. When: 8 p.m. – 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday night

Saturday, March 16

Dropkick Murphys at The House of Blues Boston

It’s Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, which means the Dropkick Murphys are playing in Boston four nights in a row! See their tour schedule here and if you can’t make it to the March 16 show, catch them on Thursday, Friday, or Sunday.

Bombino at The Sinclair in Cambridge

Bombino is playing at The Sinclair in Cambridge this Saturday night. His 2013 album, Nomad, was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys (who just released a new single last week). If you’re into blues rock and great guitar playing, this show might be for you. Start with “Amidinine” for a taste of what Bombino offers.

When: Doors at 8 p.m. and show at 9 p.m.

More Than Words 50% Off Sale

More Than Words is “a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.” On Saturday, the organization will have a 50% off all books and records sale at their Boston and Waltham locations. Sunday, March 17

The Boston Flower & Garden Show

Winter is so close to being over, but sometimes you just can’t wait to see the signs of spring. The Boston Flower & Garden Show is coming to the Seaport World Trade Center this weekend. All kinds of floral and garden arrangements will be on display to get an early glimpse at what’s in store for spring! Tickets can be bought at the door on the day of the show. When: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: The Seaport World Trade Center – 200 Seaport Boulevard
Price: $20 for adults, $17 for seniors (65+), and $10 for children (6-17)

South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Southie will march down Broadway Street to Andrew Square beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. Stake out your spot along the parade route early as many Boston residents and visitors are expected to attend!

When: 1 p.m.
Where: West Broadway to East Broadway, ends at Andrew Square.
