Mayor Marty Walsh was on hand for a ribbon cutting this week at Forcella, the newly opened restaurant at 33 North Square in Boston’s North End. Forcella owners Nino Trotta and Shannon MacGowen showed off the 34-seat restaurant along with Chef Robert Morotto. The Italian word “forcella” translates to “fork” such as in the road at North Square.
The menu is old school Italian with exclusive wine offerings. Located in the space formerly occupied by Carmen, the renovated restaurant is intimate, with candlelit tables looking out over the cobblestone square. Forcella is open for dinner, 5 to 11 p.m., six days a week (closed Mondays). Lunch may be added in the Spring season.
