Spectacular Sand Designs at Constitution, Nantasket and Revere Beaches Friday, July 20 – Sunday, July 22

Internationally acclaimed intertidal zone artist Andres Amador will transform three metropolitan beaches into works of art this weekend beginning today, Friday, July 20, 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Constitution Beach in East Boston, as part of Save the Harbor/Save the Bay and DCR’s Better Beaches Program.

Working with sand rakes and teams of volunteers, Amador will create mandalas in the sand between the high and low tide lines that last for just a few hours. Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s Youth Environmental Education program staff and 200 kids from the East Boston YMCA will help with the project.

The fun continues on Saturday, July 21, at Nantasket Beach in Hull from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and on Sunday, July 22 at the 2018 Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival from noon – 4 p.m.
