
On Tuesday (2/13) at 8:25am Boston Police arrested suspect John Bowdon of Woburn for last Thursday’s robbery and assault at the Venice Convenience Store on Cooper Street in the North End.
When processing the scene, officers and detectives obtained surveillance footage that later led them to identify the suspect. Detectives received notification that officers recognized the individual from previous interactions as 47-year-old John Bowdon of Woburn. Further investigation allowed officers to confirm that identification which resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Bowden for Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon for the above incident, as well as additional charges which were sought in connection to two separate incidents that had previously occurred at the A-1 Convenience in the area of 285 Main Street in Charlestown.
At about 8:25 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, members of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit stopped Bowden in a vehicle in the area of 180 Green Street in Melrose and placed him in custody without incident by virtue of the above warrants. The suspect will appear in Boston Municipal Court on all charges related to this ongoing investigation.
