Join the Friends of the North End Branch Library (FONEL) for an escape out of the city to see the Generous Gardener’s 2017 Gloucester Garden Tour in the quiet seaside village of Magnolia.
At the dawn of the twentieth century, Magnolia was well known as a vacation destination with a casino, grand hotels, exclusive stores like Tiffany’s and magnificent mansions.
Stroll along Shore Road viewing private gardens, many with glorious ocean views. This garden tour showcases a variety of cottage gardens, rose gardens, estate gardens and also includes an amazing Olmsted garden. It is a (1.6 mile) walking tour.
The Friends of the North End Branch Library are organizing this trip as a fundraiser. Trip includes a round trip bus ride to Gloucester, MA and a 2017 Gloucester Garden Tour ticket (Garden Tour ticket valued at $30.00). The bus will depart the North End at 9:00am and arrives at the Magnolia Library in the Village of Magnolia for the start of the 2017 Gloucester Garden Tour. After the self guided 1.6 mile walking tour of fabulous gardens, the bus will escort us to downtown Gloucester for shopping and lunch on your own. Bus will depart at 3:00pm for return to the North End. Pick up and Drop off will be at Steriti Rink, 561 Commercial St., Boston, MA. Please supply payment, email and or phone # for confirmation.
