Video: North End / West End ABCD Center “Buona Sera” Fundraiser

Enjoy this fun video from the 2016 ABCD North End / West End “Buona Sera” fundraiser supported by many North End / Waterfront restaurants in support of area seniors and families. For 50 years ABCD has provided basic services and innovative programs that help empower individuals, families, and communities in Boston to overcome poverty, live with dignity, and achieve their full potential. The North End / West End ABCD Neighborhood Service Center is located at 1 Michelangelo in Boston’s North End.

The evening kicked off as BSO and WGBH radio personality Ron Della Chiesa emceed a Wine Reception at WilmerHale, located at 60 State Street, 26th Floor, Downtown Boston.

“Embraced both by the residents and the businesses of the North End community, Buona Sera has been highly successful in raising funds for the vital services provided by our North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center,” said ABCD President/CEO John Drew. “As friends and supporters of ABCD gather for spirits and good food, they also bring awareness to the struggles that a many seniors who live on fixed incomes deal with. We want the elder residents of the North End, West End, and Greater Boston to continue to have a place to gather, connect with neighbors, and learn of the many ABCD programs and resources that can promote self-sufficiency.”

Founded in 1964, the ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center meets the specific needs of low-income residents in the North End and West End, where the majority of its residents are elderly; have fixed incomes below the poverty line; and possess little formal education.

Since the center’s founding, more than 50,000 clients have passed through its doors and are provided with vital and free services such as case management for the homebound, housing and fuel assistance, food programs, English and computer classes, social networks and events, and much more.

ABCD is grateful for our neighborhood advocates and sponsors. Through your generosity and continued support, the North End/West End NSC and other ABCD sites can further promote innovative programs and resources for residents in need.
