1. Scheduled events courtesy of the Community Calendar:
6:00pm North End Nursing Home Hearing. Councilor LaMattina will be holding a hearing regarding the North End Nursing Home. It will be at City Hall in the City Council Chamber on 5th Floor. See the posting for information on how to testify at the hearing.
6:00pm Abutters Meetings regarding new all-alcohol licenses have been set up by the Mayors Office of Neighborhood Services to take place on site from 6pm to 8:30pm at five North End restaurants: 6pm Crudo, 6:30pm Carmelina’s, 7:00pm Strega, 7:30pm Antico Forno and 8:00pm Terramia. 6:30pm FOCCP Meeting – Friends of Christopher Columbus Park – Located at the Mariner’s House, 11 North Square, Boston.
6:45pm Back to School Dance Series – Dance 101 at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Shake off the back to school butterflies with our Back to School Series, Dance 101! We’ll teach you all the basics you need to become the dance floor favorite, this is free and open to the public.
7:00pm RUFF Meeting at Nazzaro Center. This RUFF Meeting will cover fall event planning! Join the meeting if you are creative and/or want to become more involved!

Near Old North Church, neighborhood history emerges in layers of trash
City of Boston archeologist Joe Bagley has been digging up “buried treasure” like broken dinner plates, bottles, marbles, dolls, and dice around Old North Church. Bagley and volunteers have a 7-foot-deep hole off of Salem Street that has unveiled day-to-day details of 19th-century life in the congested North End, continue reading details and their findings at The Boston Globe.
