1. Thousands gathered at City Hall Plaza on Monday night to honor the 49 people killed in Orlando. Mayor Marty Walsh spoke at the vigil after which City Hall was bathed in rainbow colors overnight. More at the Boston Globe.
2. Today is Flag Day! Marking a United States Holiday, Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14th. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day.
