NEMPAC and the Eliot School hosted an Instrument Playground with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) on Tuesday, March 8th! Seven guest musicians, led by BPO Education Director Alex Goodin, visited the Eliot Lower School 2nd Graders and led a fun, educational exploration of many, many instruments! The students were able to try out as many instruments as they’d like and we know many of them found their favorite! It was an experience that will last a lifetime for many of the 2nd graders.
The Musary, a non-profit organization based out of the North Shore, generously provided all of the instruments for the workshop, including a violin, cello, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and sets of drums and percussion instruments!
“I am sure that many kids will remember this day for a long time, and maybe will be inspired to study an instrument thanks to this opportunity. ” – Stefano Marchese, NEMPAC Teaching Artist at the Eliot Lower and Upper School.
What an experience for the students….loved seeing them with the instruments.
