Dog Owners Group, RUFF, Updates Residents on Dog Park Progress

Leslie Horn of the dog owner group, RUFF, provided a brief update on the organization’s work over the winter.

The new permanent dog park at the Gassy Flights continues in the design phase. The bid for a designer is out and a final decision is expected by the end of February. Preparation is expected to take about four months. Work is likely to be scheduled during the summer at DiFilippo Park.

On Feburary 26th, RUFF is doing a fundraiser at TD Bank on Union Street (near Faneuil Hall). This event is held all day. Your role: 1) bring change to the bank, 2) run it through the counter, 3) RUFF gets a donation in that amount. There is no obligation to donate your change since RUFF gets credit just for you exchanging it. RUFF members will be on hand with lots of fun at the bank all day and its 100% dog friendly!

Automatic locks are in progress of being installed during March at the Gassy Flights dog park. This will give RUFF volunteer a break in opening and closing the park everyday.

The group is actively working to reduce dog waste on the streets and parks. Email info@ruffboston.org if you have any problems to report or want to help in the monthly cleanups.
