Events: All-Alcohol Abutters Meeting, CityFeast, NEAD Bingo Fundraiser, and More!

The all-alcohol licenses abutters meeting will kick off the events this week, leading into CityFeast and the always popular NEAD bingo fundraiser! All that and more are scheduled as seen below:

Monday, January 25

6:00pm New All-Alcohol Licenses Abutters Meeting at Nazzaro Center [30 N. Bennet Street, Boston]
The City of Boston is holding an abutters meeting regarding the new all-alcohol licenses that are being applied for by several North End restaurants and bars, view the meeting agenda.

Tuesday, January 26

9:00am West End Playgroup [West End Community Center]
Located at 1 Congress Street, drop-in to let kids play and adults chat with one another, toys are provided, just bring the kids!

Wednesday, January 27

3:00pm Downtown Waterfront MHP Committee Meeting
Visit the BRA webpage for general information on the planning initiative and presentation materials from prior meetings, as well as copies of regulations specific to Municipal Harbor Plans and Chapter 91.

6:00pm Film: Winter Light at North End Library [25 Parmenter St, Boston]
Winter Films at the North End Branch Library presents: Winter Light (1963) “Nattvardsgästerna” (original title). A small town priest struggles with his faith. Stars: Ingrid Thulin, Gunnar Björnstrand, Gunnel Lindblom Director: Ingmar Bergman. Featuring Swedish with English Subtitles, runtime of 81 minutes.

1:00pm I AM Books, author presentation: Daughters, Dads and the Path through Grief
Located at 189 North Street, Authors Lorraine Mangione and Donna DiCello join I AM Books for a presentation of their book “Daughters, Dads and the Path through Grief – Tales of Italian America.” 

Sunday, January 31

2:00pm NEAD Bingo Fundraiser at Nazzaro Center [30 N. Bennet Street, Boston]
North End Against Drugs will be having their annual adult bingo fundraiser, please reserve your spots in advance as space is limited. The cost is $30 for 3 cards, additional cards can be purchased at $5 each. There will be raffles for scratch tickets, a coffee basket and more. Prizes with a value of $50 or more will be awarded for each game, there will be no cash prizes awarded. All Proceeds will go to support North End Against Drugs Youth Programs! Free popcorn, coffee, soft drinks and desserts will be served to all players, email John Romano at jromano45@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

6:00pm CityFeast at North End Restaurants
The 11th annual CityFeast event in Boston’s North End is to benefit Joslin Diabetes Center’s High Hopes Fund, featuring nine of the North End’s most exclusive Italian restaurants. Tickets include a five-course dinner with wine pairings at one of the participating restaurants and are $150 each, of which $100 is tax deductible. Event information and tickets.
