The Old North Spring 2015 Speaker Series kicked off on March 25th with a public lecture entitled “Paul Revere: Beyond the Midnight Ride” featuring author Michael Greenburg, author of The Court Martial of Paul Revere: A Son of Liberty & America’s Forgotten Military Disaster.
The free lecture was held at the historic Old North Church where the author revealed a far more complex personality of Paul Revere than commonly known and seen in Longfellow’s “Paul Revere’s Ride” poem. Greenburg talked about Revere’s lesser known travails and ultimate court-martial following the doomed Penobscot Expedition, an often ignored chapter in the life of this beloved American icon.
