The Massachusetts Beirut Memorial at Christopher Columbus Park was buried this winter in snow except for these little wreathes hanging on the branches. There are nine dogwood trees surrounding the memorial, one for each Massachusetts Marine who were serving as peacekeepers and died on October 23, 1983 in the Beirut, Lebanon barracks terrorist bombing that killed 241 Americans.
