This week brings April fools and a wealth of events leading into Easter weekend! In addition to a few public meetings and hearings, Easter events will take place over the weekend and Wednesday marks 60 years since Tony DeMarco won the World Welterweight Title!

12:00pm Snow Removal Hearing at Boston City Hall

6:00pm North End Youth Hockey Banquet at Filippo’s Ristorante, 283 Causeway Street
Filippo’s will be the site of the North End youth hockey banquet, awards will be presented to celebrate this past season.

Tony DeMarco Wins World’s Welterweight Title – April 1, 1955
This marks the 60th anniversary of North End local Tony DeMarco winning the World’s Welterweight Title. He was born to Sicilian immigrants and had his first professional fight when he was sixteen years old, where he knocked out Mestor Jones in one round. Read more.

9:30amEgg Hunt at Christopher Columbus Park [Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, Boston]
All ages welcome to the Egg hunt at Christopher Columbus Park. Meet in the playground and bring your own basket for Hundreds of brightly colored plastic eggs that will be filled with little toys thanks to the generosity of The Living Room Restaurant, the Boston Community Collaborative and the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park. 10:00am NEAD Easter Party – Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street
North End Against Drugs will be holding their annual Children’s Easter Party, the event is sponsored by Mike Giannasoli in memory of his Mother Florence. The Puppet Show is sponsored by City Councilor Sal LaMattina and there will also be photos with the Easter bunny, egg coloring and coloring of Easter pictures. 10:00am Easter Egg Hunt at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
This marks the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Faneuil Hall Marketplace to celebrate the Easter holiday. Participants will gather in the Upper Rotunda at Quincy Market to pick up their clue sheet that includes riddles and hints leading to the merchants in possession of the eggs.
