Crews are out around the clock, whether it is snow removal, gas leaks or repair work, it seems like streets and sidewalks could not get any smaller! If you have had enough of the snow, I hate to tell you but the Twitter world around @NorthEndBoston has been consumed with photos and chatter about the large amounts of snow in the #NorthEnd and #BostonWaterfront.

  1. I WOULD LOVE TO COMMEND THE PLOW TRUCKS, THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB ON HANOVER ST. THERE IS
NO SNOW IN THE GUTTERS AT ALL, AND THE ONLY SNOW THAT REMAINS IS ON THE EDGE OF THE
SIDEWALK. YOU GUYS DID A GREAT JOB. WE KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF RESTAURANTS ON HANOVER
ST., MORE THAN ANY OTHER ST. IN THE NO. END, BUT THOSE RESTAURANTS OWNERS DID NOT PUT ALL
YOU POLITICIANS IN OFFICE, THE RESIDENTS DID, & THEY OUT WEIGH THE RESTAURANT OWNERS BY FAR.
I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE IN FAR WORSE CONDITIONS THAN NO. END RESIDENTS, BUT
WHAT PISSES ME OFF IS LET US BE “FA I R” TO ALL THE PEOPLE, NOT JUST THE FUND RAISERS FOR THE
POLITICIANS, WHICH MOST ARE RESTAURANT OWNERS. THIS IS A BIG INSULT TO THOSE RESIDENTS WHO
HAVE SUPPORTED & DONATED MONEY. “FAIRNESS IS ALL I ASK FOR, AND FOR ALL OF YOU THAT
GIVE THIS A THUMBS DOWN, I HAVE A BETTER PLACE FOR YOU TO PUT THAT THUMB.

    1. Not all restaurant owners are treated equally, this I can tell you for sure. I voted and gave a very generous donation to Mayor Walsh BEFORE the election and got totally screwed by the city after the snow storm. On Monday Feb.2nd a front end loader under contact by the city proceeded to dump six feet of snow in front of my restaurant (Four Winds Bar and Grill) and buried the sidewalk in the process. My manager who was working that night pleaded with the operator of the equipment to please stop to no avail. The following two days my wife and I made several calls to the mayors office , city councilor LaMattin’s office and to the D.P.W. I got absolutely nothing from them. I could not get my trash removed for two weeks and deliveries were impossible . The fire hydrant to the left of my property was also buried, a very dangerous situation. I finally got a private contractor to remove the snow on Feb.16 at my own expense. This is what I get for $27,000.00 per year in property taxes ,meal and liquor taxes and various other non ending fees. Bottom line, never ever think that local and state government are here to help you.

  2. OMG I left on second storm it will still be there when I get back Hope cleaners are helping the elderly The thing is when the snow is gone The drunks will be keeping us up as you say fornicating, urinating and regurgitating MARIE!! I’m not putting thumbs up thumbs down I’ll just put them together

  3. Tommy, I feel so bad about your experience. It is very obvious the only street that matters in the No. End is Hanover St.
and they more than proved it. All i am looking for is FAIRNESS & it doesn’t seem like it exists in the
North End. We go back to the days of MY PLACE & WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
Ask Marty for your donation back.
