Loving father of Norbert DeAmato and his wife Laura of Somerville, Lorraine DeAmato of Lynn, Susan Eng DeAmato of Canton, Maria Estey and her husband Daleof Somerville. Brother of Reverend Norbert DeAmato OFM of the North End, Boston, Frank DeAmato of FL, John “DA” DeAmato of NH and the late Carmen and Pasquale “Pat” DeAmato. Cherished grandfather of Susan, Nicole, Matthew, Deanna, Melissa, Andrea and great grandfather of Charlotte.
Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq) Somerville, Wednesday morning at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Church The Evangelist Church, North Cambridge at 10 am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Tuesday 3-8pm. Interment St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to the YMCA, 101 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143. Veteran US Army Staff Sergeant served in WWII 1943-1945 in European Theater. 120th Infantry Regiment of the 30th Infantry Division (Old Hickory). Awards: Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and five campaign battle stars. Member of the VFW Post 144, North End, Boston, RMCA, Arlington, Sons of Italy, Everett, Somerville Council on Aging, YMCA, Somerville.
