Nicholas A. Benning ’15 of the North End achieved High Honors for the Third Quarter at Boston College High School. For High Honors a student must have at least a 3.80 quality point average and all grades ‘”C+” or higher.
Benjamin S. Murphy ’15 and Michael Laposata ‘16 achieved Honors. For Honors a student. must have at least a 3.20 quality point average and all grades ‘”C-” or higher.
Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863. The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts.
C+ for High honors’? C- for ‘Honors’?
I am sure these boys are very smart, hard workers, and did better than most but the bar seems awfully low.

To be clear: to get High Honors a student must have a GPA of 3.8 (which is an A/A- average) AND must not have gotten any one grade below a C+.
