National Braille Press Holds Reading Event at North End Library

On Thursday, October 24th, National Braille Press President Brian MacDonald joined Chairman, President and CEO of State Street Corporation, Jay Hooley to celebrate Blind Awareness Month at a reading event at the North End Library. Children from the North End neighborhood attended the storytime to hear the books Froggy Learns to Swim and What A Bad Dream, read by Jay Hooley, and Marvin K Mooney and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, read by Harvard student and braille reader, Juna Gjata. Jay Hooley will receive the President’s Award at National Braille Press’s 2013 annual “A Million Laughs for Literacy” gala on November 1st at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel.
